THE MERIDIAN DISTRICT HEATING PROJECT DETAILS

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Proven Projects Construction (PPC) have been awarded for the various district heating services that we offer, including design, installation, testing, and commissioning. One of our biggest projects was the Zone A1 district heating network, which was part of the Meridian Water Heat Network, consisting of circa 2.2km of trench for dual DN400 & DN200 series 3 Kingspan LOGSTOR pipe.

The works are to be constructed mostly in public highways through the London Borough of Enfield. The pipeline runs from the Meridian Water complex to the Edmonton green shopping complex.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS

The pipeline will be constructed in wide and deep trenches predominantly through busy highways in an urban environment.
There are a number of engineering challenges along the route including several major road and waterway crossings.=
200 metres of the works are being installed in a tunnel.
Significant stakeholder involvement in the project requiring consents and approvals.
Crossing of sensitive services and managing live traffic conditions.
Significant value engineering and risk mitigation at the design stage.
PPC are utilising their in-depth experience in delivering projects in challenging and high risk environments.
